Dev Log #005 — Cities Begin Taking Shape

The city system has become one of the most interesting parts of Firetorn's design.

Rather than treating locations as simple menu screens, each city will eventually serve a purpose within the game world.

Some cities may offer unique opportunities. Others may have different levels of law enforcement activity. Future updates may even introduce city-specific events and economies.

The biggest discussion internally continues to be travel time.

Most browser games allow players to instantly move anywhere in the world. Firetorn will likely take a different approach.

Real-world travel times add strategy. Players must think ahead and commit to decisions rather than instantly jumping between locations.

The system still requires testing, but it remains one of the concepts I'm most excited about.
