Dev Log #008 — Building for Mobile First
Historically, browser RPGs were built with desktop users in mind.
That approach no longer makes sense.
A large percentage of players now browse the internet primarily through mobile devices, and Firetorn needs to reflect that reality.
This week I began outlining mobile design requirements for nearly every major system.
Menus must be touch-friendly.
Navigation must remain simple.
Complex systems must remain accessible on smaller screens.
The goal is straightforward: Firetorn should feel just as comfortable on a phone as it does on a desktop computer.
Achieving that will require extra development effort, but it will be worth it.
